Linfoot Street project is continuing to move forward. The plans and specifications for Linfoot Street Re-Build projects have passed all ODOT and Federal Highway Department reviews. It is scheduled to be bid beginning April 2, 2015 and will be opened on April 30, 2015. The award of contract should take place about June 1, 2015. However the ODOT driven schedule does not call for work to begin until sometime in November, 2015. That is why the City was forced to once again put some patches on the payment. We have to keep it in reasonable service until work can begin. From Ottokee Street through Shoop Avenue intersection Linfoot St. will have all new storm and sanitary sewers, plus a new water main. ODOT's schedule has the underground improvements happening through the winter months. The full depth pavement replacement, curbs, gutters and sidewalks will be done in the spring/summer of 2016. The total construction estimate is $2,413,249.00. The city received a grant from ODOT's Small Cities Program in the amount of $1,658,400.00.
Now that the weather is starting to warm up, remember to watch for our bicyclists and walkers on our streets and bike paths. Have a safe and enjoyable spring.
