Utility Clerk Position

FOR THE CITY OF WAUSEON
The Wauseon Civil Service Commission will administer a Civil Service Examination for the position of a “Utility Clerk” for the City of Wauseon on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 at 9:00 am in the Wauseon Fire Department Training Room at 230 Clinton Street. Successful candidates will undergo a background investigation and a physical examination by a licensed physician.
Application forms are available in the Administrative Office, 2nd Floor in the Wauseon Municipal Building, 230 Clinton Street, Wauseon, Ohio. Applications may be obtained during normal business hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Each candidate must pay a $20.00 (non-refundable) application fee at the time they submit their application. Applications and resumes must be returned to the Wauseon Municipal Building no later than 4:30 pm, Thursday, October 26th, 2017.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS – Completion of Associates Degree in Accounting or related field and three (3) months related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Candidates must provide proof they have met the education requirements when submitting their application. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and a valid State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Successful candidates are required to serve a six (6) month probationary period.
Applicants wishing to obtain military credit must supply copies of DD214 certification at the time of application to receive the additional 10% to their passing score.
Starting salary range is $13.21 - $15.85 per hour depending on experience and includes liberal fringe benefits.
