The Wauseon Civil Service Commission will administer a structured interview examination for the position of an “Assistant Recreation Superintendent” for the Parks Department for the City of Wauseon. Successful candidates will undergo a background investigation; a physical examination by a licensed physician and drug testing.
Application forms are available in the Administrative Office, 2nd Floor in the Wauseon Municipal Building, 230 Clinton Street, Wauseon, Ohio. Applications may be obtained during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Each candidate must pay a $20.00 (non-refundable) application fee at the time they submit their application. Applications must be returned to the Wauseon Municipal Building no later than 4:00 p.m., September 21, 2018.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS – Associates degree in Recreation Management,
Physical Education, Public Administration, Health, or a related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must pass BCI and FBI background checks. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio Driver’s license. Candidates must provide proof that have met the education requirements at the time of application.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Successful candidates are required to serve a six (6) month probationary period.
Applicants wishing to obtain military credit must supply copies of DD214 certification at the time of application to receive an additional 10% to their passing score.
Starting range $15.81-$22.13 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and includes liberal fringe benefits.
